Durham high school football game postponed after student tests positive for COVID
A Friday night football game between C.E. Jordan High School and Northern High School has been postponed after a Northern High student athlete tested positive for COVID-19.
Jordan Principal Susan Stewart Taylor announced on Twitter the game was being postponed.
“Contact tracing is continuing and families of close contacts will be notified today,” she said.
The status of the student who tested positive, including whether they were experiencing any symptoms, was not shared.
Students and staff members who are fully vaccinated don’t need to quarantine if they are determined to be close contacts to someone who tests positive for the virus, according to Durham Public Schools.
The game between Jordan High and Northern High will be rescheduled, Taylor said.
