Victim identified in second Durham shooting in 24 hours

Police on Monday identified a young man fatally shot Sunday night in the same Durham neighborhood where three men were shot the day before.

Police responded around 6 p.m. Sunday to a call in the area of Glenbrook Drive and Dubonnet Place near the Colonial Village neighborhood north of Interstate 85.

According to a news release, 23-year-old Dashaun Johnson was taken to a local hospital, where he died.

The shooting followed another shooting around 9:15 p.m. Saturday that injured three men, according to police and media reports.

The shootings are related, a police spokesperson said by email Monday afternoon.
