A Durham motorcyclist was killed in a South Miami Boulevard wreck Thursday, police said.

Motorcycle riders were killed in separate collisions with cars making turns Thursday night in Raleigh and Durham, police reported Friday.

Raleigh collision

At 9:23 pm, Raleigh police officers responded to a collision at the intersection of Falls of Neuse Road and Fairfax Drive.

Ethan Murillo-Ceron, 18, was operating a 2012 Kawasaki EX650 motorcycle south on Falls of Neuse Road.

A 2023 Hyundai Elantra traveling north was turning left from Falls of Neuse Road onto Fairfax Drive when Murillo-Ceron collided with the back right corner of the car, according to a police news release..

Murillo-Ceron was taken to the hospital, where he died from his injuries.

As of Friday morning, police do not suspect impairment in the Elantra driver and have not filed any charges, the release stated.

Durham collision

In Durham, Travis Barber, 29, was killed shortly before 10 p.m. at the intersection of South Miami Boulevard and N.C. 54 in Durham, according to a news release.

Barber was traveling south on South Miami Boulevard when his 2024 Kawasaki motorcycle hit a 2014 Toyota Camry.

The driver of the sedan was turning left onto South Miami Boulevard from a parking lot at the time of the crash, police said.

Police did not release information on possible factors in the crash.
