Durham police are investigating after a collision between a car and tractor- trailer on Interstate 85 killed a man Sunday.
Officers were called to Interstate 85 southbound at Exit 176 at 6:13 p.m. after a 2015 Dodge Challenger struck the rear of a 2025 Freightliner tractor-trailer, according to a news release.
Alfredo Sanchez Soto, 32, of Durham was driving the Challenger, police said. He died at the scene.
Speed appears to have contributed to the crash, according to the release. Interstate 85 southbound was reduced to one lane for just under five hours while officers investigated.
