Motorcyclists to roll into downtown Raleigh

Motorcycles of all shapes and sizes will be filling the streets of downtown Raleigh this weekend for the Ray Price Capital City Bikefest.

The event – which also includes bands, wrestling, and tattoo and pinup contests – kicks off Friday at noon on Fayetteville Street and will continue through Sunday. Most events are free.

Highlights include:

Bike show: A collection of vintage, modern and artistically designed motorcycles at the Raleigh Convention Center. Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Stunt shows: Indoor and outdoor stunt shows throughout downtown all weekend.

Music: A range of music – from funk to country, reggae to metal – from 35 bands. They will perform throughout the weekend on four stages: City Plaza, inside the Raleigh Convention Center, outside the Convention Center and at the Ray Price Dealership on South Saunders Street.

TattooFest: A collection of tattoo artists, with contests for prizes in 13 categories. Noon to 9 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday at the convention center.

Pinup contest: The Miss Capital City Bikefest contest will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the convention center.

Wrestling: Personalities include Ivan Koloff, Jimmy Valiant, The Barbarian and The Sandman. Sunday from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the convention center.
