Two-vehicle crash seriously injures motorcyclist on Capital Boulevard

Police are investigating a crash on Capital Boulevard that seriously injured a motorcyclist.

The rider of a motorcycle was seriously injured when the bike was hit from behind by a car on Capital Boulevard on Sunday evening, according to Raleigh police.

The crash took place in the northbound lanes of Capital near Brentwood Road shortly before 7 p.m., according to police. Two lanes of northbound Capital were closed following the crash.

The driver of the motorcycle was taken to WakeMed Hospital. Police have not released additional details, including the names of those involved in the collision.

Raleigh police said late Sunday that they were still investigating the crash and would release more information.
