19-year-old driver killed in Wake County collision with minivan. 6 others injured.

A young driver from Fuquay-Varina was killed early Sunday morning in a fatal highway crash near Holly Springs, according to the State Highway Patrol.

Isabelle Anna Cedeno, 19, was driving her BMW north on N.C. 540 when she lost control of the car and ran off the road to the left, crossing a grassy median.

She then collided with a Honda Odyssey van traveling on N.C. 540 South near U.S. 1 North and Veridea Parkway. This area is where the Triangle Expressway ends at Exit 55.

The crash was reported about 12:13 a.m. and happened under the overpass on the highway, according to Sgt. Matthew Morrison.

Three adults and three children, including an infant and a toddler, were in the van, Morrison said.

The adults were taken to a local hospital and treated for non-life threatening injuries. Speed may have been a factor in the crash, according to the Highway Patrol.

Cedeno was pronounced dead at the scene.

She was a graduate of Fuquay-Varina High School and a competitive dancer, according to a report by ABC11, The News & Observer’s media partner.
