A suspect has been arrested in New Jersey in the shooting death of a man last month in Raleigh, police said Monday.

The shooting occurred in the 5200 block of Deep Channel Drive, off Buffaloe Road in the northeast corner of the city, around 5:30 a.m. May 26, according to police.

Officers responding to a report of a dead body in the area found 31-year-old Jeremiah Frazier with gunshot wounds in a townhouse complex and declared his death a homicide.

Tyron Ronnell Warren, 42, was arrested on a charge of murder in New Jersey, the Raleigh Police Department said in an update Monday. He is not yet in Raleigh, a police spokesperson said.

Frazier had two daughters and a son, according to an online obituary.

As of May 22, there had been 14 homicides, including 11 fatal shootings, in Raleigh this year, according to police.
