Power outage hits downtown Cary

A power outage struck about 1,000 Duke Energy Progress customers in and around downtown Cary at mid-morning Thursday.

The cause of the outage was not immediately clear.

Progress showed the outage starting at about 10:30 a.m.

The company’s map of the affected area was mostly north of South West Maynard Road and east and south of West Chatham Street and west of Kildaire Farm Road.

The company posted an estimated restoration time of 12:15 p.m.
