Apex man faces statutory rape charge

Wake County Sheriff’s deputies arrested an Apex man Saturday, charging him with a statutory rape committed nearly two years ago.

Joshua Daniel Morris, 24, of 103 Spring St. in Apex, was arrested at his home.

An arrest warrant indicates the offense spanned the month of January 2013, and involved sexual intercourse with a 15-year-old female.

The charge describes Morris as being at least six years older and not lawfully married to the victim.

W.T. Brown of the Apex Police Department was listed as the complainant on the arrest warrant.

Morris’ bond was set at $1,000,000. He is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
