Man accused of sexually assaulting student with disability in NC State university housing
A man was charged Thursday with sexually assaulting a graduate student in N.C. State University student housing.
Roberto Alvarez Jr., 37, was arrested at his home in Cary and charged with sexual battery, breaking or entering and assault on an individual with a disability, according to a Cary Police Department arrest report.
Alvarez is accused of unlawfully entering Hudson Hall in N.C. State’s Wolf Village apartments at 2760 Wolf Village Way on Tuesday, arrest warrants state.
He forcibly hugged, kissed and fondled the student with a disability “who was physically helpless and the defendant (Alvarez) knew was physically helpless,” arrest warrants state.
The student did not know Alvarez, according to an N.C. State WolfAlert crime warning email.
Alvarez is being held at Wake County Detention Center under $6,000 bail.
