4 people stabbed, 1 person shot at Raleigh bar with violent history
Four people were stabbed and one person was shot early Sunday morning at an East Raleigh bar with a history of violent crime.
Raleigh police officers responded to a call reporting a man with a gunshot wound who walked in to WakeMed Hospital around 12:30 a.m.
Officers determined he had been shot at Star Bar on Trawick Road, a police department news release stated.
An hour later, police responded to a call reporting a stabbing at Star Bar. Four female victims had been stabbed, with non-life-threatening wounds.
Gov. Roy Cooper’s executive order closes most bars to prevent the spread of the coronavirus but allows those that also serve food, like State Bar,to stay open.
Star Bar, at 1731 Trawick Road, has been the location of several shootings over the past year, including one that resulted in the death of a man.
Anthony O’Neal Early, 31, was fatally shot at Star Bar in November. Two men have been arrested and charged in his death.
In June last year, bullets hit seven cars in the bar’s parking lot, CBS 17 reported. In January, a man was shot in the parking lot of the bar, according to ABC11. Just last month, a man was shot while driving near Star Bar, on Trawick Road near Lake Woodard Drive, WRAL reported. He wrecked his car and was taken to the hospital.
Police records show there have been 338 calls to 911 from 1731 Trawick Road since January 2017. Other establishments at the address include a tobacco shop, a grocery store, a church, a hair salon and a tattoo studio.
Police records show officers responded to several reports of assault and shots fired in the 1700 block of Trawick Road dating back to 2014. Many of the assaults were aggravated, meaning they were made with knives or guns; on a child, person with a handicap or a government employee; or caused serious injury.
