Durham 21-year-old faces charge after crash killed two pedestrians in Boone

A Durham woman faces a driving while impaired charge after her car struck and killed two people in Boone late Friday, according to police.

Madison Jane Mahagan, 21, was driving east on East King Street around 11 p.m. Friday, according to a Boone Police Department news release.

Tracy Marie Lindamore, 52, and James Leroy Lindamore Jr., 54, both of Frostburg, Maryland, were struck while crossing the street in a crosswalk, the release states.

Mahagan was arrested and charged with driving while impaired. Additional charges are possible pending the conclusion of the investigation, the release states.

“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of Mr. and Mrs. Lindamore and all those involved,” the release states.
