Person injured by broken glass at NC Central University after bullet hits dorm window

N.C. Central University police are investigating a bullet hitting a residence hall on campus Saturday night, according to the university’s website.

A shooting into an occupied building was reported at the school around 10:50 p.m., according to NCCU’s daily incident log.

NCCU sent an alert to students that said a bullet damaged a window at Benjamin Ruffin Residence Hall after an unknown person discharged a firearm on the 1900 block of Fayetteville Street.

A person in the room was slightly injured by broken glass, according to the alert said.

There is no indication the dorm was targeted, the alert said.
