Cary police arrested a second person accused in the non-fatal shooting of a man in downtown Cary last week.

Abraham Saif Assaedi, 27, of Oxford, turned himself in Friday with his attorney present, police said in an updated news release.

He was charged with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Police previously charged Salwa Saif Assaedi, 30, of Cary, on Thursday morning with assault with a deadly weapon inflicting serious injury.

Officers responded to calls about the shooting on the 200 block of East Chatham Street at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday, police said previously.

Officers found a man with a single gunshot wound.

Police say he was being treated for serious injuries but was in stable condition Thursday.

The man, whose name was not released, was shot during a domestic dispute, according to police, who did not provide additional details.

The case remains under investigation.
