Police identify two men killed in quadruple shooting in Durham neighborhood
Durham police released the names of two men killed in a quadruple shooting Tuesday in northern Durham.
The men who were fatally shot were 34-year-old Jason Epps and 58-year-old Terence Kimble, both of Durham.
Officers responded around 1:30 a.m. to calls about a shooting in the 4100 block of Sudbury Road. The area is off East Carver Street north of Interstate 85.
Police found four men with gunshot wounds, a news release stated.
One was pronounced dead at the scene, and another was taken to a hospital where he died.
The other two men shot were treated for non-life threatening injuries, the release stated.
Police have not released information about any possible suspects or how the men may have known each other.
The number of shootings and people shot in Durham has declined in recent years.
In 2022, there were 770 shootings — incidents in which a firearm was discharged — in the city, according to the Durham Police Department’s most recent crime statistics.
There were 247 people shot last year, 41 of them fatally, the statistics show.
