Raleigh police officers are investigating a robbery at First Citizens Bank in downtown Raleigh.

The incident happened Tuesday afternoon at the branch at 239 Fayetteville St. A police spokesperson was unable to provide more details as of 3:50 p.m.

This is the second downtown bank robbery in a less than a week.

On Thursday afternoon, the Raleigh Police Department responded to a bank robbery at M&F Bank at 13 E. Hargett St. about at 3:11 p.m., Lt. Jason Borneo said. Police say a person entered the bank and passed a note to a teller demanding money. The teller complied, and the suspect fled. No weapon was used and there were no injuries, according to police.

M&F Bank is across from downtown restaurants Sitti and The Raleigh Times.
