No charges for Johnston Co. homeowner who shot, killed man trying to ‘accost’ child
Following an investigation, the Johnston County Sheriff’s Office said Thursday that there won’t be any charges for a homeowner who shot and killed a man whom he alleged threatened his daughter and tried to break into his house.
José Ramiro Cac Choc, 24, was identified as the man who was shot and killed at the home in the 100 block of Parker Street in the town of Wilson’s Mills.
There isn’t a known connection between the family at the home and the suspect, who was described by authorities to have resided in the Garner area.
The shooting occurred at around 9 p.m. Sunday after a homeowner alleged that Cac Choc had approached his children who were playing in the backyard.
Authorities consulted with the Johnston County District Attorney’s Office in their investigation of the case, according to a news release.
