Teen girl believed abducted in East Durham is found and safe, police say

A 16-year-old girl reported missing Friday morning was located and is safe, the Durham Police Department said early Friday afternoon.

An Amber Alert had been issued for Aniha Hooper of Durham before 10 a.m.

Hooper has last been seen at around 2 a.m. Friday at a bus stop near Angier Avenue and Hoover Road in East Durham.

She was wearing a blonde bonnet, gray shorts and an orange and white basketball jersey.

Three men wearing masks were believed to have abducted her in a blue truck, according to a national Amber Alert.

Police did not elaborate on how Hooper was found and if any suspects have been charged.
