Raleigh police found a body two days after investigating a shooting at the same scene.

Two days after reports of a shooting in western Raleigh, police found a body in the same area.

On Saturday, police responded to reports of a shooting at Picket Fence Lane near Buck Jones Road.

At the time, officers “observed several townhomes that were damaged by gunfire,” a news release stated. There were no reports of injuries.

But when police returned to Picket Fence Lane on Monday, they found a man’s body in woods behind the townhomes.

He has been identified as Dexter Rashad Ingram. He was 28 years old.

Police have ruled Ingram’s death as a homicide.
