Man charged with murder after 22-year-old shot in Raleigh dies of injuries
A 22-year-old man was found with several gunshot wounds at a home south of downtown Raleigh on Saturday and later died of his injuries, according to police.
Police were called to the 100 block of Summit Avenue in the Caraleigh neighborhood at about 8:37 p.m. and found Nicolas Ricardo Carrasco Domenec with multiple wounds.
Police said Saturday night that Domenec had been taken to a hospital with serious injuries. On Sunday, they said he had died and that his death was being investigated as a homicide.
Monday night, Raleigh police said Marcus Anthony Fletcher, 23, was arrested and charged with murder in Domenec’s killing.
Police have not released additional details.

Homicides are down this year in the capital city.
▪ As of Friday there had been 29 homicides in Raleigh this year, according to a police spokesperson.
▪ That was down from 39 homicide incidents (with 45 total victims) in 2022 and 30 homicides in 2021.
▪ All told, there had been 113 shooting incidents in Raleigh as of Friday, with 22 people fatally shot and 105 people shot but who survived.
