Carrboro police are looking for a man who fired multiple gunshots near a busy highway intersection before running away Tuesday afternoon.
No one was injured in the shooting, which happened around 12:35 p.m. after two people got into an argument and the suspect pulled out a firearm near the intersection of West Main Street and N.C. 54, police said in a news release.
The location is near Carrboro Plaza and one of the town’s heavily traveled intersections, where people sometimes stand in highway medians and at bus stops.
Police did not provide much information about the suspect but think the incident was isolated, without any ongoing public threat, they said.
