Two 911 calls were released in response to public records requests from The News & Observer: one call from the man and a second from the mother, who reports she has locked herself in the bedroom and has the knife.

“I stabbed her to death. I did it on purpose,” the man, now on the driveway, tells the 911 operator.

She asks if he can tell her why, and he says no.

“Hurry up,” he says. “Please.”

Town records show that before Tuesday police were called to the home once in the past three years, for a non-violent complaint, a town spokesperson told The News & Observer by email.

Eaddy, who could face the death penalty if convicted, is being held in the Wake County Detention Center without bail., according to ABC11, The N&O’s news gathering partner. A capital defender was appointed to represent him during a court appearance Thursday.
