NC police find woman seriously hurt after shooting, wounded man left the scene

Police reported a man and a woman were injured in an early morning shooting Saturday, Oct. 12, 2024 on University Drive in Durham.

A woman was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries early Saturday after she and a man were shot in the 1100 block of University Drive, Durham police said.

Police found the woman who had been shot when they responded to a call around 3:45 a.m. Saturday, according to a news release. The male victim had been driven to a different location before someone called 911 about his injuries, which police said were serious.

Both victims were taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.

The investigation is continuing. Police did not identify the person who drove the male victim from the scene of the shooting and said no other information is available.
