2 separate fatal shootings on the same Durham street this week, police said
Durham police announced they are investigating a 36-year-old man’s death on Brye Street as a homicide, making two fatal shootings on the same street within four days.
Police said Tuesday that Jacob Kennedy, found Saturday morning on the 800 block of Brye Street, died from a gunshot wound.
Officers found Christopher Lee Hart, 31, of Durham dead from gunfire Tuesday morning near the intersection of Brye and Holloway streets east of downtown.
In addition to the Brye Street shootings, Durham police said they are investigating after a man was killed and another reportedly injured in the area of Lednum and Leon streets sometime late Monday or early Tuesday morning.
That shooting followed an incident Sunday night, in which officers found a man with a gunshot wound in the same block of Lednum Street, according to ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner. That man was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, ABC11 reported.
