Durham police have arrested a man on a charge of murder in a May shooting in a parking lot, officials said Wednesday.
Damonte Lewis, 25, is charged with murder, felony conspiracy and possessing a weapon of mass destruction in the May 21 death of Trocon George.
George, 32, was found fatally shot in the parking lot of a business in the 1500 block of Guess Road in the Walltown neighborhood, The News & Observer previously reported.
A grand jury indicted Lewis on those charges Monday, the same day he was arrested, court records show.
Lewis allegedly conspired with at least two other unknown people to murder George, the arrest warrant states. He is also accused of illegally carrying a black assault rifle-style Palmetto State Armory PX9 9mm handgun, according to the warrant.
Lewis is being held in the Durham County jail without bail.
