A Raleigh man was arrested Wednesday and charged with murder in a deadly shooting at his apartment complex.

Joshua Reed Blackwell, 37, is accused of killing De’Antonio Orlando Mursuli, 33, on Dec. 23 at the Cedar Springs Apartments on Cedar Forest Way, according to a news release.

Mursuli was taken to the hospital with serious injuries and died the next day, his obituary shows.

Court documents don’t give a potential motive or explain why almost a month elapsed between the shooting and Blackwell’s arrest.

Blackwell is being held at the Wake County jail without bail. He also faces pending charges in Wake County of possession of a firearm by a felon, possession of methamphetamine and trafficking opium or heroin, according to his release order.

Mursuli is survived by a son, his parents and three siblings, according to his obituary.
