Roxboro man found with gunshot wound in East Durham dies at hospital
Durham police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning.
Officers responded around 5 a.m. to the 600 block of Ellis Road and found a man with a gunshot wound. Emergency Medical Services took him to a local hospital, where he died.
On Monday police identified the man as 27-year-old Monteith Lowery of Roxboro.

As of Feb. 15, 22 people had been shot in Durham this year, four of them fatally, police statistics show.
