Durham police arrested a woman charged with murder in a February carjacking, investigators said Tuesday.

Tiffany Springfield, 39, was charged while still at large Feb. 21 in the Feb. 7 death of John Walker Jr., 39, according to a news release.

Police were called to a report of an unconscious person in the 2100 block of North Roxboro Street just before 7 p.m. that night and found Walker unresponsive, the release said. He later died at a hospital.

Investigators initially classified the case as a death investigation, but later discovered he’d been fatally injured during a carjacking, according to the release. Springfield’s arrest warrant is not yet publicly available, and the release didn’t specify how police came to that determination.
