Human remains found in southern Orange County, deputies say
A person walking a dog along Hawk Ridge Road encountered human remains, authorities said.
The remains were discovered north of N.C. 54 in southern Orange County on Saturday, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.
Investigators are now working with the medical examiner to identify the person who died and the circumstances surrounding the death.
