Raleigh police charge 22-year-old with murder after Star Street shooting

Police have charged a 22-year-old man with murder five days after a man was shot in downtown Raleigh.

Vincent Dasani Wesley was initially charged with possession of a firearm by a felon and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

He is now accused of murder in the death of 54-year-old Timothy Terrell Crandell, who died Thursday after he was shot Sunday on Star Street, police said in a news release. He was taken to a nearby hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police provided no details on the circumstances surrounding the shooting or if the two men knew each other.
