2 men charged in shooting that killed juvenile near Knightdale

The Wake County Sheriff’s Office has arrested two people in connection with a shooting that killed a boy near Knightdale this month.

The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. July 9 in the 6100 block of Knightdale Boulevard near Hodge Road.

The next day the Sheriff’s Office said the boy who was shot had died after being taken to the hospital. His name and age have not been released.

On Tuesday, deputies charged two men in the shooting:

Tra’von McArthur, 29, is charged with murder, conspiracy to sell a schedule VI controlled substance, and conspiracy to deliver a schedule VI controlled substance.

Devonte Gary, 32, is charged with with conspiracy to sell a schedule VI controlled substance and conspiracy to deliver a schedule VI controlled substance. He turned himself in at the Nash County Detention Facility on Monday.

The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information that would assist in the investigation to call 919-856-6911.
