Two people found shot and killed at apartment complex in Cary

Cary police are investigating the deaths of a man and woman found shot and killed in a Cary home Friday afternoon.

Majda Massri, 55, and her estranged husband, Abderrahman “Abdul Rajab, 60, were the two people found dead at Windsor at Tryon Village Apartments on Underwood Arbor Place shortly, Cary Police Sgt. Kenric Alexander revealed in a news release Saturday.

ABC11, The News & Observer’s newsgathering partner, reported the pair were from Syria and that a gun was found at the scene.

“This was a case of domestic violence, and there is no threat to the community,” according to Alexander.

A person who identified themself as a friend told ABC11 Massri and Rajab were a married couple with grown children and that Massri had recently decided to separate from the husband.

“A man who lived at the complex told ABC11 ... he heard what sounded like an argument in a language he did not understand, and then he heard two gunshots and then silence,” the news station reported.

Both Massri and Rajab’s bodies were sent to the medical examiner for autopsies.
