Police charge Durham teen with murder, assault in Raleigh nightclub shooting

Raleigh Police arrested a man Friday in the Aug. 9 shooting outside the Patio Nightclub that killed one man and injured another.

Jonathan David Bonilla-Ramos, 19, of Durham, is charged with murder and assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, police said in a news release.

He is being held without bond in the Wake County jail.

Police responded to the nightclub on New Bern Avenue around 3:34 a.m. Aug. 9 and found two men with gunshot wounds, they said. Both men were taken to the hospital, and one later died from his injuries.

The second man’s injuries were not life-threatening, police said.

Police have not released any other details about the victims or the shooting, which happened in the Beacon Plaza shopping center, in the 3900 block of New Bern Avenue near Corporation Parkway.
