The Wake Forest Police Department has charged a 23-year-old Wake Forest daycare worker with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse.

Police launched an investigation in August after a child was injured at Wake Forest KinderCare, at 1201 Friendship Chapel Road, according to a news release Wednesday.

During the investigation, police learned of a separate incident in April in which another child suffered injuries, the release stated.

In one case, a 3-year-old child suffered abrusions on both sides of their back, according to an arrest warrant.

In the other case, a 15-month-old child suffered bruising to both sides of the child’s chest, ribs and back, an warrant stated.

On Monday, police charged Mallory Claire Kemple with two counts of misdemeanor child abuse, according to the release.

A clerk set her bail at $5,000 secured, online court records show
