18-year-old fatally shot in Durham on Wednesday

An 18-year-old was found shot at a Durham residence, police said. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.

An 18-year-old was shot and killed in Durham on Wednesday, police said..

Police responded to reports of gunshots at 1:05 p.m. at a home in the 200 block of Marbella Grove Court. They found the young man with multiple gunshot wounds. He was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Police did not identify the victim or indicate whether they had a suspect or possible motive.

As of Sept. 6, a total of 116 people had been shot in Durham this year, a drop from 157 in 2024 and 138 in 2023, according to police statistics.

Twenty-two people have died in shootings this year, the same number as last year by the same time.
