A man is dead and a suspect is in custody after a stabbing in downtown Raleigh on Tuesday morning.

Raleigh police found Richard Hauser, 63, dead with stab wounds just before 11 a.m. in the 1200 block of Pender Street, police said in a Thursday statement.

They charged Reginald Perry, 69, with murder and arrested him on Wednesday.

Perry lives in Raleigh. He remains at the Wake County Detention Center without bail. The police investigation is ongoing.
