One dead, one injured in double shooting inside a home in Clayton

A person is in custody after two people were found with gunshot wounds at a home in Clayton’s Flowers community.

A person is in custody after two people were found with gunshot wounds at a Clayton home Saturday.

Deputies from the Johnston County’s Sheriff’s Office responded “in the early morning hours” to a residence on Valley Field Drive in the Flowers community of Clayton, Sheriff’s Office Chief Deputy Jeff Caldwell wrote in a Saturday release. One person was pronounced dead at the scene, another was transported by EMS.

The Sheriff’s Office has not released the names of the victims or the person in custody but said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
