A man accused of impersonating a police officer last month faces more charges after a second person reported being pulled over and harassed.

On Friday police charged Meredith Cromartie Jr., 33, with second-degree kidnapping, sexual battery and impersonating a law enforcement officer, a felony and two misdemeanors, respectively.

The new charges stem from a March 17 encounter with Cromartie. The person told police that Cromartie was driving a black Chevy Tahoe equipped with emergency sirens that he turned on to pull the person over. Cromartie threatened the person with jail and speeding tickets and attempted to kiss and put his hands under the person’s shirt, according to Cromartie’s latest arrest warrant.

Last month police charged Cromartie with impersonating a law enforcement officer, extortion, sexual battery and second-degree kidnapping.

Those charges followed a March 18 interaction with Cromartie in which another person alleged that Cromartie had followed her closely on Interstate 540 and tried to pull her over.

He contacted the woman over the phone and said she would be getting a ticket for having improper tags and no insurance, which were true, according to an arrest warrant.

Cromartie told the woman he would not issue her a ticket if she provided sexual images of herself, a warrant states. He also grabbed her hand and placed it on his genitals, it states.

The woman called police the next day, the report states.
