A man is charged with murder after a shooting at a Southeast Raleigh apartment complex Saturday night.

Tyrone Vandyke, 36, died at a hospital after being shot around 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18, at an apartment complex at 1820 Walnut View Road, according to a Raleigh Police Department news release.

Raleigh police said Donte Young, 42, of Willow Spring, was charged with felony murder after being found at the scene with a firearm that was believed to be the murder weapon, the release said.

“Preliminary investigation indicates the two individuals were known to one another and were involved in a verbal altercation prior to the shooting,” according to the police department.

Young is being held in jail without bond, per court records.
