Raleigh police are investigating after a man in a wheelchair was fatally struck by a car Thursday morning.
Police were called to Glenwood Avenue at Hilburn Drive in northwest Raleigh about 2:45 a.m., according to a Raleigh Police Department news release.
The initial investigation showed a gold 2018 Infiniti Q60 struck Matthew B. Robinson, 41, of Raleigh, as Robinson was in the left lane of Glenwood Avenue, the release said. Robinson was in a wheelchair and was stationary at the time of the crash.
Police described Robinson as “87 feet form the crosswalk in an unlit section of the roadway,” according to the release. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Infiniti didn’t appear to be impaired, and no charges as of Thursday afternoon, according to police. The driver’s name was not released.
