Son charged in father’s fatal stabbing in Durham

Police have arrested a man in the fatal stabbing of his father on Sunday afternoon.

Donald Fields Jr., 23, of Durham, has been charged with the murder of Donald Fields Sr., 54, police said Sunday in a news release.

Officers responding to a call about 12:23 p.m. in the 3400 block of Marquis Drive found Fields Sr. with stab wounds. Fields Sr. was taken to a hospital, where he died, police stated.

The suspect fled the scene but later was arrested.
