This is the content of a letter sent home with students from Enloe High School from Principal Beth Cochran.
Parents and Guardians:
In light of our recent situation involving outside speakers, I believe it is important to reflect on the role of speakers in our classrooms and what it means to us as a school community.
Guest speakers can provide a wonderful enrichment opportunity for our students by bringing unique personal experiences and various points of view that can significantly enhance our students' education. When we invite speakers into our classrooms, however, there is an expectation that the presentation is not only aligned with the standard course of study, but is also relevant to the class unit and appropriate in tone and topic for high school students in a public school setting.

We take pride at Enloe in providing a challenging and rigorous educational program to all of our students, but we also must exercise discretion and sound judgment in the topics we select for discussion and the materials speakers distribute to students.
At this time, the school system is thoroughly investigating concerns regarding the recent speaker from the Kamil International Ministries Organization. These concerns are being taken very seriously. In addition, this event has caused us to examine our procedures for inviting guest speakers so that we can be assured that their presentations and materials are appropriate for our school environment.
