A video of teachers dancing in the carpool lane at Willow Springs Elementary School has gone viral.
The video shows teachers dancing as they greet cars arriving at school.
Matt Dees, a spokesman for Wake County schools, shot the video during Saturday’s makeup day at Willow Springs Elementary, south of Raleigh.
As of Monday afternoon, the video had 86,000 views and been shared more than 1,000 times from the school system’s Facebook page.
The Willow Springs teachers do “dancing carpool” every Friday, said Lisa Luten, a spokeswoman for Wake.
Luanne Hettich, the school’s guidance counselor, “started the Friday dance parties three years ago to help add a little sunshine and end the week on a happy note for our students,” said principal Camille Miller.
“Our teachers love having car duty on Fridays now,” Miller said. “We add it in on Saturdays too when we have a makeup day.”
