Wake schools suspend coach at Garner High. Coach’s statements are being investigated.
A coach at Garner High School has been suspended while the Wake County school system investigates statements made by the person.
In a message Wednesday to families, interim Garner High principal John Williams said that a student recently brought to his attention a concern related to statements made by one of the coaches. Williams doesn’t provide details about the statements, citing that state personnel law prohibits him from sharing additional information about the circumstances surrounding the incident.
“We have reported the concern to the district’s human resources department,” Williams said. “They are currently investigating the incident.”
Williams added that the coach, who wasn’t named in the message, is suspended while the investigation takes place.
