Former Durham Public Schools superintendent out of a job in Buffalo
A familiar name in Triangle education is out of another job.
Pascal Mubenga, who resigned as Durham Public Schools superintendent in early 2024 amid a major pay dispute, has now resigned from his position as superintendent of Buffalo Public Schools.
It comes after just 11 months on the job to the surprise of many in Buffalo, who said they were caught off guard.
In 2024, Mubenga left DPS during a controversy in which some employees had been overpaid.
There were reports that Mubenga knew about the discrepancy months before informing the school board.
The reason for his Buffalo resignation has not been disclosed.
