Original story: An Instagram fitness model with tens of thousands of followers has been missing for a month since last being seen in Southern California, authorities say.
Ca’Shawn Ashley “Cookie” Sims, 30, was last seen Sept. 8 on the 2100 block of Broach Avenue, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a Facebook post.
“She has abandoned her home, her dog and seemingly her phone which is unlike her,” sister Ca’rynn Sims wrote on Instagram.
An update on her sister’s Instagram says Ca’Shawn Sims has been confirmed to have been in Pasadena on Sept. 11-12. She went to a hospital complaining of shortness of breath on both nights, the post said.
Posting as “The Booty Doctor” on Instagram, Ca’Shawn Sims has more than 216,000 followers with nearly 3,800 posts. Her last public post was July 1.
“Although my sister is a very independent person and enjoys her solitude, family close and distant have not been able to get in touch with her for too long and it is concerning,” sister Christol Sims posted on her Instagram.
Deputies describe Ca’Shawn Sims as a 5-foot-1 Black woman, 120 pounds, with black shoulder-length hair and brown eyes.
She has multiple tattoos, including one that reads “It’s found in the soul” on her left collarbone, the Earth on her left forearm and Spanish writing on her back, sheriff’s officials said.
She also has a tattoo of an elephant on her arm and the definition of “serenity” on the back of her arm, Ca’rynn Sims wrote.
“I never thought there’d come a day of me posting a missing flyer for my sister,” Ca’rynn Sims wrote on Instagram. “We want her covered in prayers, God’s grace and to know that she is whole, well and alive.”
Sheriff’s officials ask that anyone with information call 323-890-5500.
