Hilary Swank lists ‘romantic’ California villa with ocean views for $10.5M. Take a look
While it’s been over a year since “Million Dollar Baby” star Hilary Swank revealed that she and her family had ditched the lush hills of Los Angeles for the beauty of Colorado, the Academy Award-winning actor just put her longtime California villa on the market for $10.5 million.
Swank bought the breathtaking six-bedroom, 6.5-bathroom estate, referred to as a “private celebrity compound” in the listing, back in 2007 for $5.8 million, the Los Angeles Times reported.
The 6,722-square-foot property not only has drop-dead gorgeous views from nearly every window of the compound, but it also has a “Hacienda resort feel” thanks to its large “hotel-like” rooms with private balconies, the listing describes.
There is also a fully equipped cabana, a living room with built-in bookshelves, an open chef’s kitchen, a breakfast room and an outdoor dining veranda. The elegant primary suite has a sitting room with a fireplace and balcony. The bathroom has a soaking tub and Juliet balcony, the listing says.
Swank told Health.com that she became enamored with Colorado on a drive from Iowa to Los Angeles.
“We didn’t own a car, so we bought a used car and started our drive back to Los Angeles,” the actor told Health. “And that’s when we stopped in Colorado. We were going to stay four or five nights, and we ended up staying for months.”
Swank was a former child actor who starred in such films as “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” and “The Next Karate Kid” before winning an Oscar for her portrayal of Brandon Teena in “Boys Don’t Cry,” IMDb said. She won her second Academy Award for starring opposite Clint Eastwood and Morgan Freeman in Eastwood’s drama “Million Dollar Baby”.
