A home in Colorado Springs that was once referred to as a ‘little slice of hell’ — and a nightmare for the nose and eyes — has reappeared on the real estate market after a hefty makeover.

Earlier this year, the five-bedroom, four-bathroom garnered national attention after it was listed for “as is” for $590,000, which isn’t unheard of when it comes to fixer-uppers, but this wasn’t your average fixer-upper.

It was “hell” on earth, according to the original listing.

“This formerly majestic five bed, four bath, three car garage home was once the seller’s pride and joy,” the listing says according to a previous article by McClatchy News. “Now it’s every landlord’s nightmare and needs someone with firm resolve to appreciate its potential. If you dream of owning your own little slice of hell and turning it into a piece of heaven, then look no further!”

Thanks to a bitter former tenant, the house was covered in spray paint, damaged with punctured dry walls, and, quite possibly the worst of all, littered with rotting meat and dead animal carcasses.

But now, the nightmare is over and the house is back on the market with a some fresh renovations.

It’s beautiful. It’s very modern, so new paint, new floors, granite countertops, white cabinets that go all the way to the ceiling,” listing agent Sarah McGarry told The Gazette. “It’s a completely different house.”

According to KRDO, the house was purchased by Laura and Donny Coram, who said the hardest part to fix in the beaten-up property was the “plumbing and the subfloor that were wrecked from the feces.”

The Corams purchased the home for $580,000.

The original house got massive attention thanks to a humorous listing by Mimi Foster, the agent who sold the house over the summer. She also posted a walk-through of the damaged house on YouTube just so potential buyers were well aware of what they would be purchasing.

Thankfully, that’s all in the past.

According to Denver 7, the house is now listed at $850,000.

“A lot of people would run scared when they saw the condition of this property,” Donny Coram said to Denver 7. “We just kind of took the palette, which was the house and made it someplace somebody would want to live in.”
