Virginia house for sale looks strange from outside — but wait until you see the inside
While this five-bedroom, five-bathroom house on the real estate market in Blacksburg, Virginia, for $2 million may seem like a castle according to a popular Facebook page, its description says otherwise.
Sure, the 8,100-square-foot property has a puzzling exterior that could give the vague appearance of a castle (if you squint), but the real draw is the interior, the listing on Realtor.com says.

“Upon entering the 12(-foot) tall main entry doors your eyes will be drawn to the imported antique Chinese doors that were once used in a temple prior to being installed in this home,” the listing reports.
“Advancing further into the home you will find the incredible glass floors, Italian tile, and hand-made 10 (foot antique Chinese elm doors used in multiple rooms throughout. In the center of the home you will find the truly one-of-a-kind dome that is 30 (feet) above the floor giving the property a wow factor that cannot be replicated.”
It certainly is different than the cold gray concrete vibe the outside gives off.
The home, which sits on 10 acres, is referred to as a “castle” on Zillow Gone Wild, a social media page that focuses on quirky houses for sale, but fans beg to differ, and have a few observations to throw around.
“I love castles and this was tastefully done,” one person said. “But honestly you had me sold on the view from the office. How would anyone get any work done with those views?”
“Instructions to designer: ‘for the outside I’m thinking old world European castle, and for the inside I’d like it to have absolutely nothing to do with the outside, how about tacky, modern, eclectic, heavy emphasis on the tacky,’” another joked.
“This house looks like a concrete grain elevator with windows,” one person observed.
“That entryway is what every single one of my Minecraft house floors looks like,” another said.
“Castle? No, a mansion with two small kitchens from what I see,” one person noted.
“There’s some really cool stuff happening in this house, architecturally,” another said.
Blacksburg is about 190 miles northwest of Raleigh, North Carolina.
